Day 101 – April 11 Tulip

I grew up in a town on the west side of Michigan, right on the shore of Lake Michigan.  It just so happens to be just north of Holland, Michigan.  When you live in an area with a city called Holland, you can bet that you’ll come across a few things.  Wooden shoes, no doubt.  Windmills, of course.  Fabulous baked goods available everywhere.  Lots of tall people that have blonde hair and blue eyes.  Half of the phone book is taken up by names starting with Van or Vander.  And of course, tulips!  I love tulips.  I was at the grocery store Friday and picked some up.  They’re just now starting to open up and they’re beautiful.  I have these light purple ones as well as some that are white.  It’s that time too…. the annual Tulip Festival will be starting in Holland, MI soon (and in the Netherlands?!).  Happy spring… Enjoy!
