Come on, we all know that game – you see a VW Beetle and you yell “slug bug (whatever color it is)” and slug the kid next to you! Well, tonight I walked out of the gym and saw this bug and boy, I had no idea what color to call it! Good thing there wasn’t anyone for me to slug anyway. Wow, what a paint job. It even has an awesome custom spoiler on the back end too. To top it all off, I had the opportunity to talk with the owner just as I finished up photographing it and he said it has a Porsche engine in it and some extras, like nitrogen. Nice! Looks cool AND goes fast! What a ride! 🙂

😀
How fun! 🙂 My dad used to be the VP of the Vintage VW Club of North America… so I grew up surrounded by the old beetles and other fun VWs. Thanks for sharing! This one is quite unique.
You just never know what you’ll see, which is why it’s great always having my camera with me! This was certainly unique. I have no doubt you’ve seen others that are just as interesting through the vintage club, provided they weren’t all “purists”. 😉
Great shots! I hope you are able to send these to the owner. I bet he would love them.
Thanks Kara! I actually think that the owner works at the gym that I workout at (that’s where I was) so I may try to follow up with him and get an email address.
