Day 250 – September 7 Zambian Village Visit and Lion Encounter

This day on our travels was by far one of my favorite.  It’s hard to pick favorites… it really was an incredible trip.  Levi, a gentleman that worked at the lodge that we were staying at, was kind enough to show my friends and I around his village, including the pre-school and then another neighboring school.  It was incredible learning how they lived.  The children were adorable at the pre-school and incredibly impressive at the private school we visited.  In the afternoon, we ventured out to a special experience to walk with 10 month old lions.  We were up close, petting them and walking with them.  Definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity!

  1. What a great opportunity – to be both shown around the village and get that close to the lions! Your photos were all great, it’s challenging sometimes to capture all of the moments when travelling. You did it and then some, thanks for sharing!

    • Thank you so much Kelly. I had an amazing trip and tons of fun, snapping away with my camera. I just got done sorting through about 2300 images to get them down to just over 1000 that I’ll share with friends and family. Next I’ll do a major sort down to a set number for a book. I’m vowing to actually print some of these! 🙂
