Day 279 – October 6 RDU Airport

The Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina has gone through some wonderful upgrades recently!  The new portion of the airport opened just this year and it’s very impressive.  It has the feel of an old rounded airport hanger and I kind of like it.  In the entrance there are high ceilings and wonderful light with great colorful pieces scattered through the open space, which you can see in this photograph.  They got creative with the elevators and kept them open too.  Nice job RDU!  🙂

If you’re ever in Richmond, Virginia, give me a holler. I’d love to show you around or at least meet you at the airport for some tea.

    • Ah, Richmond! Thanks, I’ll definitely do that if I’m in the area. I actually have a cousin in Charlottesville and I used to live just to the south in Greensboro, NC. 🙂 I’ve been to Richmond – you live in a beautiful area!

Have they finally eliminated smoking in the airport yet? Southern tobacco growing area in the old days. Hope you had a good visit…
